White

White gravel gives the ecosystem a bright, clear and calm look. The shrimp and the delicate structures in the glass are shown to their best advantage.

Black

Black gravel provides an expressive and elegant design. The dark background creates a striking contrast to the shrimp and the other components of the ecosystem.

Ocean Blue

Ocean blue gravel gives the ecosystem a fresh, maritime look and is reminiscent of the colors of the sea.

Since this is a living and hand-designed ecosystem, the shape and arrangement of the gorgonian, gravel distribution, shrimp coloration and algae development may vary from the product images. These differences are part of the individual character of each system.

Glass

The clear glass is also used for laboratory applications. It is as thin as possible and as stable as necessary. This creates a particularly light, clear and elegant look.

Water

The brackish water is specially prepared for the ecosystems in our laboratory in Germany. Salts, minerals and microorganisms are carefully matched to the living conditions of the shrimp and the biological cycle.

Gravel

We have been using specially selected artificial gravel for many years. This can be hygienically prepared and is significantly lighter than natural gravel. The lower weight reduces the load during transport and thus contributes to safer shipping of the shrimp.

For this product you can choose between white, black and ocean blue gravel.

Shells

Each ecosystem contains some small shells. They not only serve as decoration, but also release minerals into the water over time.

Gorgonian

The branched branch in the glass is called a gorgonian. To protect natural coral populations, we only use artificially produced gorgonians.

A suitable individual piece is selected and cut by hand from a larger gorgonian branch for each ecosystem. This gives each glass its own shape and structure.

The gorgonian serves as a resting and climbing surface for the shrimp. Algae, biofilm and microorganisms can also settle on its surface, which are part of the natural food source of the shrimp.

Algae

The ecosystem contains various types of algae, including fine green filamentous algae and brown surface algae. Both do not always have to be clearly visible.

The algae use the incident light for photosynthesis. In doing so, they produce oxygen and, together with the natural biofilm, form an important food source for the shrimp.

Microorganisms

Tiny bacteria and other microorganisms take over an important part of natural waste recycling. They process organic residues and return the contained nutrients to the biological cycle.

Some of the microorganisms also serve as food for the shrimp.

Shrimp

The shrimp are the little stars of the ecosystem. They feed on algae, biofilm and microorganisms and move between gravel and gorgonian.

The biological cycle basically exists independently of the shrimp. They use the existing natural processes and are the most visible living component of the small world.

Cleaning magnet

There is a small magnet inside the glass. With the external magnet included in the delivery, this can be carefully moved over the inside of the glass to remove visible deposits if necessary.

For the small globe with approx. 10 cm diameter, a voluntary shrimp guarantee of 6 months from receipt applies.

For the medium globe with approx. 13 cm, the large globe with approx. 16 cm and the extra large globe with approx. 23 cm diameter, a voluntary shrimp guarantee of 12 months from receipt applies.

The guarantee applies if all shrimp in the closed ecosystem have died within the guarantee period applicable to the selected model.

You can find the full guarantee conditions in the enclosed manual. The voluntary guarantee exists in addition to your statutory warranty rights and does not restrict them.

The scope of delivery includes:

• a fully prepared and sealed eccosmo ecosystem in the selected size
• gravel in the selected color
• depending on size, usually 2–3, 6–8, 10–12 or 20–25 live shrimp
• an internal magnet for glass cleaning
• a matching external magnet
• a detailed manual with care and guarantee information

The individually assembled ecosystem is usually ready for shipment within 1–2 business days.

Within Germany, the order usually arrives within 3–8 business days.

Since the ecosystem contains live shrimp, we take the expected temperatures into account when shipping. In case of exceptional heat or severe frost, shipping may be delayed by a few days to protect the animals.
