Therefore, your EcoSphere requires neither food nor water changes. The most important care consists of choosing a suitable location and leaving the closed ecosystem as undisturbed as possible.
Top Care Tips
With a few simple basic rules, you can create optimal conditions for your eccosmo ecosystem.
Indirect light
Place your ecosystem in a not too bright spot, without direct sunlight. Around 100–300 lux are suitable as a guide.
Stable Temperature
An ideal room temperature is between 16 and 27 °C, as even as possible. Avoid strong temperature fluctuations.
Quiet location
Avoid frequent repositioning, strong shaking, and locations directly near heaters, air conditioners, or very sunny windows.
Do not open or feed
The EcoSphere is completely self-contained. Please do not add food, water, plants, animals or any other substances to it.

Algae, biofilm, small air bubbles, and changes in appearance are part of the natural cycle of the ecosystem.
The right location is the best care
A quiet place with indirect light offers your ecosystem the best conditions. Direct sunlight can heat the water and promote strong algae growth. Radiators, air conditioners, and frequent temperature fluctuations should also be avoided.
After setting it up, observe your small world over a longer period. A closed ecosystem reacts slowly to changes. Therefore, do not immediately move the eccosmo ecosystem again, but give it time to adapt to its location.
Less intervention protects the natural balance
Shrimps, algae, and microorganisms perform different tasks in the ecosystem. The shrimps feed on algae and biofilm. The gorgonian offers additional surfaces where this natural growth can form. Bacteria process organic residues and return the contained nutrients to the cycle.
Therefore, do not open the closed ecosystem and do not try to exchange the water or introduce additional food. The less the system is influenced from the outside, the better its natural balance can be maintained.
Understanding natural changes correctly
Algae are part of the ecosystem
A light green algae film is normal and forms an important part of the food base. If your ecosystem becomes significantly greener, place it in a slightly darker spot or contact our customer service.
Small air bubbles are normal
Air bubbles can form through photosynthesis and the activity of algae and microorganisms. They are usually harmless. If necessary, move the ecosystem very carefully and avoid vigorous shaking.
Clean the glass gently
You can remove external dirt with a soft, clean cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemicals.
If your EcoSphere has a cleaning magnet, slowly move the external magnet over the desired areas several times. The internal magnet will move along with it, gently removing algae and biofilm from the inside of the glass.

Do I have to feed the shrimp?
No. The shrimp feed on algae and natural biofilm within the EcoSphere. Additional food would disturb the balance of the closed ecosystem.
Do I need to change the water?
