Extra Large Sphere 23 cm White
Approx. 23 cm diameter · 20–25 shrimp · white gravel
The extra-large sphere is the most impressive model in the White Line. Its generous size offers a particularly captivating view of the vibrant underwater world, making the ecosystem an exceptional eye-catcher in living rooms, offices, or reception areas.
Inside, typically 20–25 small shrimp live together with algae and microorganisms in a finely tuned natural cycle. The white gravel gives the ecosystem a bright, clear appearance and beautifully highlights the shrimp and the delicate structures within the glass.
Each eccosmo ecosystem is carefully hand-assembled in Germany. The individual design and natural development of the living components make each system a unique piece.

What's inside the ecosystem?
Glass
The clear glass is also used for laboratory applications. It is as thin as possible while being as strong as necessary. This creates a particularly light, clear, and elegant look.
Water
The brackish water is specially prepared for the ecosystems in our laboratory in Germany. Salts, minerals, and contained microorganisms are carefully adapted to the living conditions of the shrimp and the biological cycle.
Gravel
For many years, we have been using specially selected artificial gravel. This can be hygienically prepared and is significantly lighter than natural gravel. The lower weight reduces stress during transport and thus contributes to safer shipping of the shrimp.
Shells
Each ecosystem contains some small shells. They not only serve for design but also release minerals into the water over time.
Gorgonian
The branched branch in the glass is called a gorgonian. To protect natural coral populations, we exclusively use artificially produced gorgonians.
A suitable individual piece is selected and cut by hand from a larger gorgonian branch for each ecosystem. This gives each glass its own shape and structure.
The gorgonian serves as a resting and climbing surface for the shrimp. Algae, biofilm, and microorganisms can also settle on its surface, which are part of the natural food source for the shrimp.
Algae
The ecosystem contains different types of algae, including fine green filamentous algae and brown surface algae. Neither needs to be clearly visible at all times.
The algae use incident light for photosynthesis. They produce oxygen and, together with the natural biofilm, form an important food source for the shrimp.
Microorganisms
Tiny bacteria and other microorganisms play an important role in natural waste recycling. They process organic residues and return the contained nutrients to the biological cycle.
Some of the microorganisms also serve as food for the shrimp.
Shrimp
The shrimp are the little stars of the ecosystem. They feed on algae, biofilm, and microorganisms and move between the gravel and the gorgonian.
The number of shrimp is adjusted to the respective size of the system. In the extra-large sphere, typically 20–25 shrimp live.
The biological cycle fundamentally exists independently of the shrimp. They utilize the existing natural processes and are the most visible living component of the small world.
Cleaning magnet
A small magnet is located inside the glass. With the external magnet included in the scope of delivery, this can be carefully moved over the inside of the glass to remove visible deposits if necessary.
12-month shrimp warranty
This model comes with a voluntary shrimp warranty of 12 months from receipt.
The warranty applies if all shrimp in the closed ecosystem have died within the warranty period.
The complete warranty conditions can be found in the enclosed manual. The voluntary warranty exists in addition to your statutory defect rights and does not restrict them.
Scope of delivery
The scope of delivery includes:
- a fully prepared and sealed eccosmo ecosystem
- typically 20–25 living shrimp
- an internal magnet for glass cleaning
- a matching external magnet
- a detailed manual with care and warranty information
Shipping and delivery
The ecosystem is usually ready for shipment within 1–2 business days.
Within Germany, the order typically arrives within 3–8 business days.
Different shipping zones, shipping costs, and delivery conditions apply for deliveries to other EU countries. Please refer to our detailed shipping information.
Since the ecosystem contains living shrimp, we consider the expected temperatures during shipping. In case of exceptional heat or severe frost, shipping may be delayed by a few days to protect the animals.
